Cycling
There are several companies locally in Durcal and in the villages
in the Alpujarras which hire bicycles. There is plenty of areas for mountain biking, from four wheel drive tracks to
a network of mule tracks. There are also plenty of quiet roads for on-road rides, though not many that are flat!
Ride Sierra Nevada do bike hire with lightweight, suspension,
v-brakes from 15 euros per day including helment and basic trail tools.

Walking
The area is ideal for anyone wishing to don hiking boots,
or for the casual walker. There is lovely walks from the front door of our house in Saleres through Restabel, Melegis and
Albunuelas.The GR7 long distance footpath runs up the hill behind the villages and then on to Lanjaron. There are countless
paths and tracks that run through woods, forests and besides streams.
For the more adventurous the sierra nevada offer many different
routes in the summer. There are also some great walks in the Alpujarran region about 20 minutes drive from the house.

Swimming
There are a number of pools around in the surrounding
villages of Padul and Lecrin. There is also a new thermal pool in the village of La Malaha about 15 miles away, it has a restaurant
and bar and is open throughout the summer. The Hotel Castillo Alcadima in Lanjaron has a pool with spectacular views to the
south and is open to those visitors who purchase a meal.
Water parks
Aquatropic at Playa Velilla, Almunecar is a popular coastal
water park, opens 11am to 7pm (please check winter times). Telephone 958 632 081.
Aqua Ola just out of the city of Granada offers nailbiting
waterslides and a large pool with activities, has lovely lawns to picnic. Opens 11am to 8pm (check winter times). Telephone

El Puntal at Padul has a leisure complex including an Olympic
size swimming pool, lawned area for picnic, tennis court, mini golf, large children pool, resturant and bar.

Horse Riding
There are various riding stables in the valley and on the
coast with rides on the beach and in the mountains. You can do day long picnic rides through spectacular countryside.

Fishing
There are lots of areas in the valley for fishing ,
We can arrange days with a local fisherman and also organise your fishing licence before you arrive. (you must have a spanish
licence to fish in spain)again please find details in our house book.
Our son recently caught 25 Carp at lake Beznar in the valley!!!
